Search Party Farrier service is a fully equiped horse shoeing practice able to meet all of your hoof care needs.
This is a 6 mo. old Fresian colt. He is not yet weaned and not yet gelded. Every horse can be a joy to work with.
Above and beyond the practical application of triming and shoeing your horses feet, "Search Party" is dedicated to helping your horse have a comfortable and confident experience while having his feet handled. This translates into helping you to help your horse.
Once upon a time, I thought that working on difficult horses was just part of the job. I learned to sneak around the snorty ones. It was hazardous duty at best. It was expected of me as part of my job. (many people still think this way) After a while it occured to me that, just possibly, there was a better way. Like so many other farriers, I would tell the client..." you need to work with your horses feet !" Of course that left a lot of room for interpretation, and IF the client was inclined to give it a go, in many cases the effort resulted in more harm than good being done. And so... after a time, it occured to me that I hadn't given my clients any skills with which to help their horses. I have since then corrected that particular problem.
I can give you the skills that you need to help your horse become a willing partner during shoeing, and in any other aspect of his life where he seems to want to express an objection.
And so...after a time, it has occured to me that no horse, NO HORSE ! needs to have a problem with having his feet worked on. All horses can be a joy to shoe.
